An Amazing First Year Comes to a Close
What a year! Not gophers, nor plague nor fire could keep the garden down! With little chance to publicize, the garden still filled up! When we all had to hunker in, it was a good chance to be outside, see friendly faces, and feel healthy and grounded. New friendships have formed and many pounds of food have gone to help those in need in our community.
I have enjoyed getting to know the gardeners and seeing the personalities they bring to their plots. The true community they and Ishbel have fostered has been good for my soul to see during this stressful, unsettling time. It truly feels like a place to go when I need to feel connected with the world--both human and natural.
Next year will be even better! We hope for funding to build a Kid's Zone, add more seating areas and shade, and possibly some ADA raised planting beds. Fingers-crossed! Look in January for applications if you would like to join the Garden! There will be a limited number of beds available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please feel free to email, or fill out the contact info on this webpage if you have questions.
I hope to see you next spring!
